I'm convinced that traditional schools are not preparing our kids for their spots in the work force and community, and this is one reason I homeschool my children. Schools do not encourage independent thought or creativity, and that's how our kids are going to need to think.

Everything is school; Creativity comes from everything

We homeschool our kids, and we've learned that anything can be a learning experience from raising Guide Dog puppies, to rescuing ferrets and attending science fiction conventions. Even games have value—my kids practice teamwork when they play computer games with dad.

This is how life should be—always learning. My kids will eventually emancipate, but I'll always be a homeschooler. I like throwing concepts into a blender and seeing what comes out.
