KL University students excel at World University Games 2025

KL University has brought immense pride to India on the global stage, emerging as the top-performing Indian institution at the prestigious World University Games 2025, held in Rhine-Ruhr, Germany.

Among India’s 300-member contingent, four exceptional student-athletes from KL University showcased outstanding talent and determination. Further, Dr. Kakarla Hari Kishore, from KLU also joined the delegation as an official representative of the nation.

India finished in 20th place overall with 12 medals, which doubled the nation's total from the previous Games, thanks in large part to the outstanding efforts of KLU students. 

In a remarkable display of skill and perseverance:

  • Vaishnavi Karthekar (BCA) secured a bronze medal in the Mixed Team Badminton Event
  • AR Rohan Kumar (BCA) earned a bronze medal in the Team Badminton Event
  • Mohit Choudhary (BBA) achieved an impressive 4th-place finish in the Half Marathon
  • Theertha Sashank (MBA) represented India with pride in Tennis

With two bronze medals, KL University topped the medal tally among all Indian universities at the event. This is an exceptional feat that sets a new standard in collegiate sports excellence. As one of the top universities in South India, KLU will continue to inspire and pave the way for future global champions.
